Pseudo Cepstral Analysis of Czech Vowels

چکیده

Real generalized cepstral analysis is introduced and applied to speech deconvolution. Real pseudo cepstrum of the vocal tract model impulse response is defined and applied to the analysis of Czech vowels. The energy concentration measure of the real pseudo cepstrum of the vocal tract model impulse response is introduced and evaluated for Czech vowels pronounced by male and female speakers. The goal of this investigation is to find a robust and more reliable method of vocal tract modeling also for voices with high fundamental frequency, i.e. for female and child voices. From the investigation follows that vowel and speaker dependent generalized cepstral analysis can be found which is more robust in speech modeling than cepstral and LPC analysis.

Pseudo-Articulatory Representations and the Use of Syllable Structure for Speech Recognition

The alternative approach for speech recognition proposed here is based on pseudo-articulatory representations (PARs), which can be described as approximation of distinctive features, and aims to establish a mapping between them and their acoustic specifications. This mapping which is used as the basis for recognition is first done for vowels. It is obtained using multiple regression analysis af...

Formant contours in Czech vowels: speaker-discriminating potential

The usefulness of dynamic formant properties for speaker discrimination was demonstrated on English, mostly exploiting long vowels or diphthongs, characterized both by actual measures along the formant tracks and coefficients from polynomial regression on these tracks. This study applies this paradigm to Czech, using less tightly controlled (more forensically realistic) material and taking into...

Pitch Estimation of Devnagari Vowels using Cepstral and Autocorrelation Techniques for Original Speech Signal

This paper deals with pitch estimation of spoken Devnagari vowels from the original speech signals. Devnagari vowels are playing the vital role in pronunciation of any word. Each vowel is classified as starting, middle and end according to the duration of occurrences in the word. The Devnagari script having 12-vowels and 34-consonants are used in some Indian language like Marathi. The Devnagari...

Cepstral and Entropy Analyses in Vowels Excerpted from Continuous Speech of Dysphonic and Control Speakers

There is a growing interest in Cepstral and Entropy analyses of voice samples for defining a vocal health indicator, due to their reliability in investigating both regular and irregular voice signals. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Cepstral Peak Prominence Smoothed (CPPS) and Sample Entropy (SampEn) could differentiate dysphonic speakers from normal speakers in vowels exc...
